The wettest months are November and December while the driest months are after the north eastern monsoon season in February and March. Unlike much of Sri Lanka there is no dry season and there can be heavy rains almost any time of the year. Nuwara Eliya is the centre for Sri Lanka tea production and is in the shadow of the island’s tallest mountain Pidurutalagala. The town itself is a little slice of England as it was a popular hill station during the raj era.
