The average weather for North Island, Seychelles
North Island and the Seychelles have a pleasant warm to hot year round climate with two distinct seasons that are dictated by the oceanic monsoon winds. The drier winds blow from the southeast and last from May through to November and this season is regarded as the best to visit the main islands.
The northwest monsoon winds, which blow from December to April, bring in hotter weather but are ladened with moisture. This moisture increases the humidity up to a draining 80% and brings in frequent showers. The wettest months of North Island are December and January and are the Seychelles’ low season and best avoided.
The two transitional months of November and May provide unpredictable weather. Even during the cooler dry season temperatures and humidity are high but the constant trade winds provide refreshing relief. The sea temperature remains around 27°C al year round.
